As a collective,
we’ve never followed
the traditional path.
From our earliest days, we’ve indulged our interests and explored alternative journeys in our lives. For every step in that journey, games were with us. They are reflections of humanity – platforms of creativity, discovery, and connection that shaped our passions and the people we are today.
However, an increasing frustration came as the industry we’ve grown up loving has been changing, and not for the better. We’ve watched as passion took a backseat to profit, and the magic of gaming became another avenue to be exploited. Gamers have become jaded, and talented developers struggle to find opportunities in an industry that has lost its way.
A frog’s pond is built
on a simple idea:
To create good games that respect players’ time, investment, and intelligence. We believe in open development, fair monetization, and making games that put the player first. More than that, we believe in fostering a space where creatives can thrive, where the best ideas win, and where innovation isn’t sacrificed for the bottom line.
A pond has no walls. Or roofs, for that matter. We’re out in the open and here to make a splash, not just with the games we create, but in how games are made. Because at the end of the day, we’re not just developing games; we’re challenging an industry to do better and be better. For players, and for the developers who bring these worlds to life.
And we’re just getting started.

Our Values

Embrace the Absurd
Open Source
When a game is being sunset (or when we feel the time is right), open source it. Gaming is, and always will be, community-based.
not a service
We reject the live-service model. We oppose DRM. You don’t need an online connection to play a single-player game. We will never launch a premium mod service.
Fresh Ideas
Players are salivating for experiences that will draw them in and make them feel something (and still have their wallet intact after).
Never Settle
Transparency
Our development process will feature behind-the-scenes videos, consistent updates, and honest communication. You will know what we’re doing and why we’re doing it.
Demos
We believe in providing free demos for all of our games so players can make educated purchases.
Community
Open and frequent playtests are made available to our entire community so we can hear from everyone. We want to make what you want to play.
Polish & Grow
Friction
Development can get messy, but as long as we look back at the moments of friction with an open and growth-centered mind, we come out the other side stronger.
Impact
We can’t expect a game to make an impact if we didn’t make an impact on one another during development. We must challenge, empower, and respect one another.
Connect
Whether it’s the detail of the foliage or the story of an NPC, our triumphs and struggles are represented in the final game.
Center the Player
Intelligence
Players are discerning and imaginative; they deserve resonant games that challenge their wits and courage.
Money
Never sell content that uses percentage chance drops, provides unfair advantages, or has a poor content-to-price ratio.
Time
We want players to get lost in our amazing worlds and know that their time within those worlds will be respected.
